Quectel KCMA32S for Smart IoT Applications

KCMA32S is the latest high-performance wireless module from Quectel Wireless Solutions. Designed for applications in IoT spaces like smart lighting, building automation, and home networks, it is engineered to consume less power and allow multi-protocol communication. It supports Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.3.

The module is powered by Silicon Labs’ EFR32MG21 SoC, which integrates an ARM Cortex-M33 processor running up to 80 MHz. It has two memory configurations: 64 KB RAM + 768 KB Flash or 96 KB SRAM + 1024 KB Flash, giving it adaptability and suiting numerous application needs. One standout feature is its support for Zigbee/BLE mesh networking. This allows devices to relay data among each other, achieving greater coverage and more reliability. To enhance IoT data security, the module also integrates Secure Vault technology.

KCMA32S measures just 20.0 × 12.0 × 2.2 mm and uses a LCC + LGA form factor. This makes it a good fit for space-constrained systems. It offers support for 20 GPIOs that can be multiplexed for I2C, UART, SPI, and I2S interfaces using the QuecOpen SDK. It has a receiver sensitivity of -104 dBm and can transmit power up to +20 dBm. It functions reliably in tough environments with its operating range of -40°C to +85°C, and offers flexible antenna options including PCB, pin, or RF coaxial interfaces.
