Vishay CHA Series Adds 0402 Resistors

Vishay Intertechnology has announced an expansion of its CHA series of thin film chip resistors. The resistors, being AEC-Q200 qualified, meet strict automotive reliability standards. The initial launch was in a 02016 case size, supporting up to 70 GHz, and the currently introduced model is in a 0402 case size.

Though the frequency performance goes slightly down from up to 70GHz to 50GHz, the power rating goes up from 30 mW at +70°C to 300 mW at +70°C, displaying a tenfold improvement. Both models maintain stability in performance over a wide frequency range with low internal reactance. They are both available in resistance values from 10 ohms (Ω) to 500 ohms (Ω). The temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm/°C (±50 ppm/°C optional) indicates the resistance change with temperature. CHA02016 has a limiting voltage of 30 V, while CHA0402 has 37 V.

These CHA series devices are suited for the automotive, space, military, telecom, and medical (0402 only) industries, with applications across areas including ADAS, LIDAR, 4D radar, LEO satellites, telemetry, drones, 5G/6G, base stations, X-ray, MRI, CAT scan, etc. They support design and simulation through S-parameter data and 3D models provided for tools like Ansys® HFSS™, Modelithics Microwave Global Models™, and electronic design kits. CHA0402 is available in waffle pack in addition to tape and reel. Orders can be placed for samples and production units right away, with an expected wait of up to 20 weeks.
