Arduino just released their new starter kit Arduino Plug and Make Kit aimed at makers of all ages. As the name suggests the kit includes plug-and-play modules to construct various projects. The kit consists of an Arduino Uno R4 WiFi development board along with a modulino base, seven modulino nodes and other hardware components including USB cables, QWIIC cables, screws, spacers and nuts.

Modulino Base is a physical framework where the Arduino Uno R4 and other modulino modules can be secured. It has a grid pattern of securing holes which can be used to secure the modules in whichever orientation we prefer. As mentioned earlier there are seven Modulino modules included in the kit. The modules include a rotary encoder module, an addressable RGB LED module with eight LEDs, a ToF or time of flight sensor, a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), a temperature and humidity sensor, a buzzer module and a button module with three tactile buttons. While some of the sensors on the Modulino modules have a native I2C interface, other basic modules are equipped with STMicroelectronics STM32C011F4 microcontroller for  fI2C communication. "According to Fabio Violante, CEO of Arduino, the Plug and Make Kit is Arduino’s new entry point into the world of IoT and electronics. It is designed to be more accessible, fun, and engaging than ever before, allowing people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests to experience their first taste of technology." The Arduino Plug and Make Kit is available to purchase on the Arduino store for €78.
