Quectel Wireless Solutions has announced the release of its high precision GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) module that can provide a cost and performance level vastly superior to the L1 GNSS solutions available in the market. The module is based on Broadcom’s BCM47755 hence it can offer simultaneous support for L1 and L5 bands for GPS, Galileo and QZSS satellites, L1 band for GLONASS and BeiDou satellites as well as L5 band for IRNSS.
Benefits of LC79D GNSS Module
- Ultra-compact size: 10.1mm × 9.7mm ×2.4mm
- Multi-GNSS engine for GPS, GLONASS, IRNSS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS
- Support dual GNSS bands (L1, L5)
- Built-in LNA for better sensitivity
- Support SPI, UART, and I2C interfaces
- Support SDK command developed by Quectel
- Support AGNSS
The multi-GNSS support along with integrated LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) and SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) helps the LC79D to reach accuracy nearly 1m and has a vastly superior performance in deep urban canyons. The combination of industry-leading performance, stand-alone operation, low power, and cost make it an ideal solution for anyone requiring a high-performance GNSS solution.
The LC79D can be used in applications such as IoT, tracking, precision agriculture, drone, etc. It can also support dead reckoning focused on the eBike, robotics and autonomous vehicle markets. The LC79D has entered into mass production and it is available for purchase along with the development kits.
