Smart Home & Wearables Contest 2025

CircuitDigest’s Smart Home & Wearables Project Contest 2025, sponsored by DigiKey, is now live. The theme of this year’s contest is easy to infer from the title. We are shifting the focus from last year’s well-received IoT and Edge AI Design Contest to projects that transform everyday living with intelligence, safety, and connectivity.

Engineers, makers, students, and hobbyists from India stand to win prizes worth Rs. 7,00,000. Registration opens today, and the 30th of November is the deadline to enter your project idea and choose one of the three development boards for your build: ESP32-S3-BOX-3, MOMENTO Programmable Camera, or MAXREFDES117 Bio-Sensor. Contestants can proceed with their development board purchase from DigiKey upon project idea approval. The board will be delivered by the 21st of December. This is followed by building the project, capturing a demonstration video, and documenting it. Submission of the project is expected by the 1st of February, 2026, after which a fixed rebate of Rs. 6,400 will be issued, covering the cost of the development board purchase.

The contest will be judged by Penny Tse, Senior Manager of Application Engineering at DigiKey, Aswin Babu, Academic Program Engineer at DigiKey, and Aswinth Raj, Editor at CircuitDigest. Each project will be assessed out of 100 points distributed across the following segments: video demonstration (30 points), hardware working (20 points), presentation (30 points), choice of hardware and software (10 points), and a full 10 points just for creativity!
