AAEON has released the COM-ARHC6, a COM Express Type 6 Computer-on-Module (COM). It features Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 processors, offering choices including Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 Processor 285H, Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor 255H, and Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 Processor 225H. As these processors come with an integrated Intel® Arc™ GPU and an Intel® AI Boost NPU, the module is capable of reaching 99 TOPs.
Measuring just 95mm x 95mm, the module does better than their previous COM Express Type 6 Compact offerings in that it boosts CPU performance by 19.6% and GPU performance by 20.3%, according to AAEON. Its memory capacity is upped by 33% with 128 GB of dual-channel DDR5. Connections to up to eight PCIe devices are possible through a single eight-lane and two four-lane PEG 4.0 slots, four single-lane PCIe 4.0 slots, plus a four-lane standard PCIe interface. Optionally, one of the four-lane PEG 4.0 slots can come preinstalled with a 256GB NVMe module for storage.
Three DDI ports allow four simultaneous display outputs at 4K resolution through either High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) or DisplayPort (DP) signals. If chosen, the dual-capable port can also support Video Graphics Array (VGA). Low-Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS) is the display option by default for embedded screens, but this can be swapped with Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) on request. In addition to these, there are two Mobile Industry Processor Interface Camera Serial Interface (MIPI CSI) connectors available as an option.
