DIY World Cup Live Score Gadget

With football fever reaching its peak, DHK DUDE from youtube built this pocket-sized, real-time World Cup score gadget for his desk. Powered by a Wemos D1 Mini microcontroller, this custom IoT gadget utilizes built-in Wi-Fi to seamlessly connect to the internet, fetching live match telemetry, group fixtures, and team data directly through web APIs. Like every maker friendly projects, he used Arduino IDE to program the board.

Leveraging efficient Arduino based code alongside libraries like TFT_eSPI for graphic rendering and ArduinoJson for processing live data feeds, the device handles real-time match stats, possession percentages, and tournament schedules with zero lag. The hardware setup remains accessible for makers of all skill levels, pairing the Wemos D1 Mini  with ST7789 TFT display to visualize the data.  It stands out as an inspiring weekend project that beautifully merges a passion for sports with the endless potential of open-source electronics.
