SounDigital Integrates Infineon’s CoolGaN for a More Efficient Amplifier

SounDigital, known for its high-performance audio amplifiers, has integrated Infineon’s CoolGaN transistors into its new 1500 W Class D amplifier. This upgrade makes the amplifier more energy-efficient, compact, and powerful, while also improving sound quality.

SoundDigitals uses Infineon’s enhanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistors which makes the  amplifier run faster by increasing switching speed , low energy loss, and stays cooler by a better heat managing system that makes it ideal for high-performance audio. With an 800 kHz switching speed and five output channels, it delivers clear, distortion-free sound while keeping the design compact.

SoundDigital have used Infineon’s 100 V normally-off E-mode transistors model IGC033S101 (PQFN-3x5 package) designed mainly for high current applications with low resistance and minimal heat dissipation and IGB110S101 (PQFN-3x3 package) have enhanced overall system efficiency while reducing power loss for their new amplifiers.

The result is a high-powered yet energy-efficient amplifier that meets the demands of modern audio systems while lowering operational costs and reducing environmental impact. With this collaboration, SounDigital and Infineon are pushing the boundaries of high-performance, energy-efficient, and compact audio solutions, ensuring that music enthusiasts and professionals can enjoy superior sound quality with enhanced technology
