Mouser Electronics, Inc.’s most recent Mouser Talks Tech video episode features an interview with Dean Kamen, the founder of FIRST®. The interview was recorded in Houston during the 2025 FIRST Championship, where Mouser served as the registration sponsor. The interview centers on how much of an influence FIRST has had on students and the support it has offered towards growth in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.
The Mouser Talks Tech video series features views from experts on technology, emerging trends, product innovations, and more. Upcoming episodes will feature interviews with Team HUGE combat robots, manufacturing partners, and electronics experts. Kamen, while speaking with Mouser Director of Marketing Communications Heidi Elliott, emphasized how exposing students to science, tech, and other fields early in life gives them a glimpse of what the future holds. He asked: “If in six weeks, they can take a pile of stuff and solve a complex, competitive problem and make it work, what could they do in six months, six years, or a career of six decades?”.
