Meet Saras 2.0, the Claude-Driven Robot

What happens when you give Claude a real robot body and let it control everything.
This article highlights Saras 2.0, an AI based robot, built by Tech with Anant. It’s an upgraded version of his previous Saras 1.0 He designed the Saras 2.0 hardware fully in Autodesk Fusion. Powered by a pi4, the bumper holds the TOF sensor and camera and front panel holds a 7inch hdmi display and an upper camera. Movement is driven by JGA25 motors with encoders. On top, it has a spinning laser and an LD06 LiDAR that does a full 360‑degree scan of its surroundings.

On the s/w side, he installed Claude code on the pi and used MCP to expose the tools like Display and Speakers to the AI model in a structured way. He created a markdown file in plain English that explains the robot’s character and behaviour to the AI model.
Now, let’s see it in action. Ask saras anything and it responds intelligently
It can describe the camera feeds in real time, find out a targeted object and move towards it avoiding any obstacles - all with the help of Claude.

So, the final result - A robot that can reason about its environment and decide how to move instead of just following a script. Check the bio for full project details and follow circuit digest for more such interesting videos.
