Humanoid Walks, Stuns Crowd, XPENG Proves It’s Real

XPENG’s latest iteration of IRON was showcased at XPENG’s AI Day on the 5th of November 2025. It’s made quite an impression with its catwalk, impressing some viewers and causing suspicion among others. It reached a level of anthropomorphism where people were genuinely confused if it was an actual humanoid or if there was a human inside a synthetic outfit doing the walking. The online buzz was big enough to warrant a response from the company. The customizable robot features a humanoid spine, bionic muscles, and is covered with flexible skin. It beats its predecessor in areas of bionic structure and energy architecture

“Our robotics team felt quite wronged,” explained the company’s CEO, He Xiaopeng. “Early this morning, they pulled me in to reshoot a video and said, Xiaopeng, help us prove there’s no human inside.” To clear the uncertainty, they made the Humanoid walk with its legs exposing mechanical insides in front of a live crowd at the venue the next day.

The XPENG Next-Gen IRON makes use of three Turing AI chips and can deliver 3,000 TOPS of processing power. Emphasizing privacy, the humanoid now complies with their newly added law, “Privacy data does not leave the robot,” while already aligning with the "Three Laws of Robotics". The company has announced mass production of the robots, with preparations planned to start in April 2026, while the showcase continues off-stage for now, as even yesterday, the company shared a video of the robot performing kung fu-style movements, exhibiting tremendous balance and coordination.
