This is an open-source desk robot built around the ESP32-C3 Mini and a small OLED display. The ESP32 provides Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing the robot to fetch real-time weather data from OpenWeatherMap.org while also displaying the current time. The OLED screen presents both useful information and cute emotional animations, giving the device a Mochi-style desk companion personality. A capacitive touch sensor adds interactivity, enabling the robot to respond to touch by switching expressions or changing display modes.
The device features a rechargeable battery-powered design, making it portable and convenient for desk use without constant wiring. It combines time and weather forecasting via Wi-Fi, expressive OLED animations, and touch interaction in a compact 3D-printed enclosure. Both the hardware and software are fully open source, allowing makers to study, modify, and improve the design according to their needs.
Overall, the project successfully integrates hardware, software, and creative design. It demonstrates IoT functionality through cloud-based weather data retrieval, simple animation programming for visual personality, and interactive control through capacitive touch.
