RECOM has released power modules featuring an ultra-wide input voltage range of 18 to 264 VAC and 18 to 375 VDC. Designed with a standard 1.5 by 2-inch footprint, these modules deliver fully regulated output voltages ranging from 5V to 54V DC. The RAC15-K/WI provides a full 15W output rating, typically above 48 VAC input at ambient temperatures up to 60°C, with diminished yet effective power delivery between 18 VAC and 48 VAC using passive cooling up to 85°C.
The modules meet reinforced isolation standards under UL/IEC/EN/CAN-CSA 62368-1 for audio/video and IT equipment, as well as IEC/EN 60335-1 for household appliances. EMC performance meets Class B levels, and the devices comply with eco-design requirements for standby and no-load losses. The output is fully protected against short circuits and overvoltage conditions. It’s labelled a Limited Power Source. In addition, the AC input is rated for Over-Voltage Category III, suitable for installations up to 3000 meters altitude.
The AC/DC product manager at RECOM, Michael Schrutka, mentioned that this ultra-wide input capability allows the RAC15-K/WI modules to cover a broad range of nominal inputs, largely eliminating the need for multiple part variants. With the mechanically identical RAC15-K/480 model, RECOM offers solutions covering nominal inputs from 18 VAC to 480 VAC.
The RAC15-K/WI series is available in multiple output voltage versions from 5V to 54V DC, offered in both through-hole (THT) and wired connection formats. These compact modules are designed for board-mount or flying-wire installations. Typical no-load power consumption is approximately 30 mW, and the modules come with a 3-year warranty.
