Power Supply Monitoring IC with Built-In Self-Diagnostic Function that Supports Functional Safety

ROHM launched a power supply monitoring IC, the BD39040MUF-C, with BIST (Built-In Self Test) that supports functional safety. The IC is made for application areas such as automotive power supply systems requiring fail-safe measures such as electric power steering as well as sensors and cameras for autonomous driving and ADAS. Other than this the sensor can also be applied in the areas such as Infotainment, Lamps, Dashboard cluster and LCD panels.

The BD39040MUF-C power monitoring IC provides monitoring functions required for functional safety in the power supply systems of ADAS sensor modules. The BD39040MUF-C is said to be the first in the industry which comes with self-diagnostic function and this IC is also capable to detect potential failure of the power supply IC itself without affecting existing systems. The IC is high performance device with integration of various monitoring functions such as voltage monitoring functions and frequency monitoring functions.
