Nexperia introduced a new line of step-down DC-DC converters for battery-operated devices that are more flexible and efficient. These converters work with both portable and fixed battery-powered devices.
The NEX30606 offers 16 different output voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 5.0 V, enabling its high efficiency and accuracy. These are ideal for wearable devices as they can provide up to 600 mA of output current, making them suitable for hearing aids, medical applications, and smart meters. The NEX30606 Step-Down Converter features low quiescent current of 220 μA, allowing it to consume minimal energy when in power-saving mode, ensuring less energy wastage and better performance.
Meanwhile, the NEX40400 operates with a low operating quiescent current of 60 μA and delivers up to 600 mA from a wide input range of 4.5 V to 40 V. It features Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) for higher efficiency at lower loads and Spread Spectrum Technology to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI). Both come with essential protection features such as overcurrent protection (OCP), short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown, ensuring optimal safety and reliability of the systems.
The NEX30606 comes in a WLCSP package, and the NEX40400 comes in a 6-lead SOT8061-1 package, making it compact and cost-effective. With their high efficiency, low standby current, and compact size, these converters make it easier to produce reliable and energy-efficient products across all industries, like industrial, automotive, and medical.
