Microchip Technology has introduced the SAMA7D65 series, a new lineup of microprocessors (MPUs) designed to power advanced human-machine interface (HMI) applications. Built on the Arm Cortex-A7 core and running at speeds up to 1 GHz, these MPUs offer a balance of performance, energy efficiency, and compact design. They are available in two formats: a System-on-Chip (SoC) and a System-in-Package (SiP) version with built-in 2 Gb DDR3L memory, helping developers streamline their designs and accelerate time to market.
One of the key highlights of the SAMA7D65 series is its advanced graphics capabilities, featuring LVDS, MIPI DSI, and a 2D GPU. These technologies enable smooth and efficient rendering of high-quality visuals, making the MPUs ideal for interactive touchscreens in industrial, medical, and transportation applications.
Connectivity is another major focus. With dual Gigabit Ethernet and support for Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), the SAMA7D65 MPUs ensure fast, low-latency communication. This is especially valuable for industrial automation and building control systems, where precise timing and reliable data transfer are crucial.
The SiP version, SAMA7D65D2G, integrates 2 Gb DDR3L memory, reducing power consumption while optimizing performance. The developers can simplify high-speed memory design and avoid logistical potential supply challenges.
To further support developers, Microchip offers the Microchip Graphics Suite within MPLAB Harmony v3 and Linux software platforms, providing a complete ecosystem for designing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and optimizing development workflows.
With its versatile features and streamlined design, the SAMA7D65 series is set to enhance next-generation embedded applications, making development easier while ensuring high performance and efficiency.
