Japan Aviation Electronics recently released a video highlighting the DX07 series USB Type-C connectors, with a focus on repairability and ease of replacement. The connectors may be replaced without soldering, addressing a typical maintenance issue caused by damaged or worn USB ports.
The DX07 series meets USB-IF criteria and can handle a wide range of performance requirements. According to the presentation, the connectors allow SuperSpeed USB data rates of up to 10 Gbps and higher speeds when linked with suitable cables, as well as power delivery up to 5A via USB Power Delivery Extended Power Range. The reversible plug design and reinforced shell structure are intended to provide durability over repeated use.
JAE presents the repairable connector design as important for sustainability and long-term product maintenance, especially as regulatory focus grows in places such as the European Union. The DX07 series is intended for consumer electronics, computing devices, automotive systems, and industrial equipment where serviceability and long product lifespan are critical concerns.
