Infineon Technologies AG has unveiled the PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit, aimed at supporting the development of embedded, Edge AI, and Machine Learning (ML) systems. This evaluation kit is designed to facilitate the creation of intelligent applications across consumer electronics, smart home environments, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The PSoC 6 AI Evaluation Kit features a compact form factor of 35 mm x 45 mm and integrates a variety of sensors and connectivity options. It is built around the Infineon PSoC 6 microcontroller (MCU), which provides the necessary computing power for real-time data processing directly at the sensor. This setup enhances performance and power efficiency by minimizing the need for cloud-based processing.
The kit supports multiple development environments, including Infineon’s ModusToolbox™, which aids in software development, and Imagimob Studio, which is used for creating and managing custom ML models. Imagimob Studio also offers a library of pre-built AI models that can be readily utilized, streamlining the development process. The PSoC 6 AI Evaluation Kit is intended for rapid prototyping, model evaluation, and solution creation. It provides a comprehensive solution for designing and testing AI and ML applications in a compact, cost-effective format, making it suitable for a wide range of use cases from consumer electronics to industrial IoT applications.
