Yield Engineering Systems, Inc (YES) has shipped its first India-made VeroTherm Formic Acid Reflow tool from its Sulur facility near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The equipment designed for advanced semiconductor applications supports 3D stacking of memory and logic chips, a crucial process for high-performance computing needs. This marks a significant milestone for India’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The Sulur facility which is operational since September 2024 recently completed its commercial shipment following the prototype dispatch in December 2024. The tool is part of a series of equipment used in semiconductor fabrication particularly for applications such as high bandwidth memory essential for AI accelerator solutions. This development strengthens local supply chains while catering to global market demands.

Industry officials have noted the achievement as an important step in building a self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem in India. Representatives from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology highlighted that this shipment aligns with national policies to support the growth of the semiconductor industry. The project also reflects ongoing initiatives under state policies including plans for semiconductor manufacturing parks in Tamil Nadu.

YES with over four decades in manufacturing equipment for semiconductors displays a commitment to expanding its operations. The Sulur facility along with associated centers in Coimbatore and Bengaluru supports local employment and serves customers both in India and worldwide. This development is closely monitored by industry experts as a sign of the nation’s growing role in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
