Vishay Intertechnology has launched a new series of high-voltage surface-mount multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) designed for a wide range of commercial applications. These capacitors, available in seven different sizes (from 1206 to 2225). They are ideal for filtering and energy storage applications in industries like power generation, industrial automation, consumer electronics, telecom infrastructure, and even medical instrumentation.
They come in two dielectric options: ultra-stable C0G (NP0) for precise performance and X7R for higher capacitance needs. To keep costs down while ensuring high reliability, these MLCCs are made using a base metal electrode (BME) system with a dry sheet technology process. The C0G (NP0) versions can handle up to 3000 VDC, offering capacitance values from 1.5 pF to 82 nF, with excellent temperature stability.
The X7R versions can handle up to 2000 VDC and offer capacitance between 100 pF and 100 nF. Both types are designed to work reliably in extreme temperatures, from -55°C to +125°C. For durability, these capacitors feature nickel barrier terminations with 100% tin coating and an optional polymer termination to prevent damage from board flexing. They are also RoHS-compliant, halogen-free.
