Murata has released the new module, Type 1SC-NTN, which has received Skylo FCC and CE L-band global certifications. It is compatible with both cellular and satellite networks, enabling worldwide connectivity. The module seamlessly connects to satellites via Skylo’s network, allowing connectivity even in remote areas where signals are unavailable.
The Type 1SC-NTN features dual-mode cellular and non-terrestrial network (NTN) capabilities, allowing manufacturers to integrate connectivity without needing new hardware for each network type. It includes integrated GPS/GNSS, which will allow accurate location tracking. The built-in Open MCU and integrated SIM functionalities simplify the device’s design by eliminating complexity.
