Hiranandani Group Announces Massive Semiconductor Project

The Hiranandani Group, popularly known as a real estate company, has unveiled a Rs 28,440 crore investment towards semiconductor manufacturing. During the Invest UP roundtable held on May 27, 2025, at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, the announcement was made alongside a lot of other significant ones. Commitments adding up to around Rs 69,000 crore were made across different sectors in Uttar Pradesh.

If these investments do come through as planned, it could seriously transform the state’s electronics manufacturing landscape and boost India’s position in the global market. The investments include Avaada Group, which pledged Rs 20,000 crore towards solar energy projects. UltraTech Cement made announcements of projects worth Rs 1,981 crore across Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, and Tanda districts, and Tata Power Renewable Energy shared their plans to build two 800 MW ultra-supercritical power units in Bundelkhand, an investment of Rs 13,700 crore.

Balrampur Chini Mills signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up India’s first industrial-scale Polylactic Acid biopolymer plant, with a proposed investment of Rs 2,850 crore, a plant using sugarcane as raw material. The green plant is expected to create around 225 jobs and contribute to the country’s bio-based material initiatives.

The Invest UP roundtable was chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and moderated by Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand. The gathering assembled government officials and industry leaders to highlight Uttar Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies, clean regulatory system, and commitment to tech innovation. These investments collectively shine a light on Uttar Pradesh’s ambitions to become a key hub for semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, and advanced materials production in India.
