High Saturation IHSR Inductor features LOW DCR, High Current Density for Multi-Phase Power Supplies

Vishay Intertechnology added another device to its IHSR series of commercial inductors with compact size of 4mm by 4mm 1616 case and as slim as 1.2 mm. The Vishay Dale IHSR-16161AB-01 offers lowest DCR/µH in this package of its family. The DCR is down to 1.15mW and inductance is up to 0.068 µH which allows for high current density then competing technologies. The low profile of 1.2mm enables slimmer end user products. These advance feature makes it a perfect fit for applications such as notebooks, desktop PCs, high current POL converters and low profile high current supplies.

The IHSR-16161AB-01 offers a 50% reduction in DCR over typical power inductors and the standard DCR tolerance of 5% with 3% tolerance available for more accurate sensing of current. The IHSR-16161AB-01 runs on frequency range up to 5MHZ and is optimized for energy storage DC/DC converters and also high current filtering up to the Self-Resonant Frequency (SRF). The newly launched inductor offers a high temperature operation range from -550C to +1250C at 62A current and handles transient current spikes without saturation. The IHSR-16161AB-01 is mechanical shock resistant and packaged in 100% lead-free shielded composite construction and which helps in reducing buzz noise to ultra-low level. It is RoHS-compliant, halogen free and offers high resistance to thermal shock and moisture.
