Distinguished from traditional doorbells, Fusion Chime Vision features a built-in 2.4-inch color display that can present greetings, images, or alerts. You can customize almost everything and find creative ways to make it work with your smart home ecosystem. It’s a doorbell that does more than just ring. It allows seamless visitor interaction with a two-way connection and real-time video streams over Wi-Fi using the ESP32-CAM.
The unit includes a PIR motion sensor for motion detection. Images and audio captured from approaching guests are stored in the system’s 32 GB onboard memory. The system is highly collaborative, allowing expansion of the indoor smart chime and 4-inch touchscreen Display Panel. The open-source firmware allows integration with platforms like Home Assistant and ESPHome. Its weather-resistant housing makes it safe to install outside. It works with existing doorbell wiring and includes snap-fit mounting brackets.
The motive of the project is to offer a user-friendly and personalized doorbell experience. It tries to mitigate reliance on proprietary cloud services. Its collaborative nature is meant to foster a community-driven smart home built on contributions from developers and hobbyists. The launch is anticipated soon, and additional details, including schematics, are to be released shortly after the product is shipped to backers.
