VeriSilicon Launches New AI Based IPs for Image Processing

VeriSilicon has announced the launch of its new AI-based image processing IP series featuring AI Noise Reduction (AI-NR) and AI Super Resolution (AI-SR) solutions. The company introduced two IPs for each series, the AINR1000 and AINR2000 for noise reduction and the AISR1000 and AISR2000 for super resolution. These IPs offer cost-effective and efficient performance with optimized power, performance and area, making them suitable for automotive, surveillance, cloud gaming, consumer electronics and other applications.

The AINR1000 IP supports a resolution of 2560x1440 at 30 frames per second, addressing entry-level Internet Protocol cameras and other cost-sensitive applications. In contrast, the AINR2000 offers higher performance with a resolution of 5600x4208 at 60 frames per second, suitable for advanced surveillance systems and sports cameras. Both solutions use proprietary AI pixel processing algorithms to reduce noise while preserving fine details and color accuracy in various lighting conditions.

The AISR1000 and AISR2000 IPs deliver advanced super resolution for image upscaling from standard, high and full high definition to 4K quality. The AISR1000 supports up to 4K at 60 frames per second, while the AISR2000 employs a dual-engine architecture to achieve 4K at up to 144 frames per second. These IPs offer flexible scaling ratios up to five times and are designed to enhance fine details and reduce jagged edges across real-time video and cloud gaming environments.

VeriSilicon uses its FLEXA interface technology to seamlessly integrate the new IPs with its existing Image Signal Processing (ISP), Video Processing Unit (VPU) and Display Processing IPs, as well as with third-party systems. The company’s advanced silicon services and custom chip design platforms support a wide range of products, from battery-powered cameras to mobile processors and data center applications. Chief Strategy Officer Weijin Dai highlighted the focus on low power consumption and silicon efficiency, noting that these solutions are already in use by customers. Overall, the new IP series significantly enhances image quality for next-generation devices.
