Global satellite connectivity provider Myriota today announced the availability of its innovative 5G-compliant HyperPulseTM network, built on Nordic Semiconductor’s low power cellular IoT solutions. The new service delivers end-to-end 5G Non-Terrestrial Network connectivity designed specifically for battery-constrained IoT applications. The collaboration brings together Myriota’s extensive expertise in direct-to-satellite IoT and Nordic Semiconductor’s proven track record in low power connectivity, setting a new standard for secure and efficient IoT communications.

With over a decade of experience, Myriota has developed a highly secure and power-efficient connectivity service through its UltraLiteTM platform. The introduction of HyperPulseTM expands the company’s infrastructure by integrating a constellation of geostationary satellites and L-Band frequency technology. By leveraging Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF9151, the smallest and lowest power System-in-Package module for IoT deployments, device makers can upgrade their connectivity quickly while enjoying battery life measured in years and affordable single-digit costs.

Industry leaders have expressed confidence in the new solution. Ben Cade, CEO of Myriota stated that the enhanced connectivity transforms IoT deployments by reducing the traditionally high costs of satellite hardware and connectivity. Oyvind Birkenes, EVP of Nordic Semiconductor’s Long Range Business Unit added that the collaboration enables the market to access 5G NTN compliant solutions rapidly. Both executives emphasized that secure, low power sensor devices can now support applications in logistics, utilities and industrial control.

The partners will showcase the solution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, exhibiting a sensing application at the Nordic Semiconductor booth (#7G21 in Hall 7). The demonstration will feature a device incorporating the nRF9151 module, with data transmitted via the HyperPulseTM network and displayed on a Nordic Semiconductor dashboard. Myriota is also accepting applications for its HyperPulseTM Early Access Program, inviting innovators to explore this advanced IoT connectivity platform. This showcase underscores tangible benefits and future potential of satellite-enabled IoT connectivity in practice.
