Infineon Technologies launched the RASIC CTRX8191F radar, which provides a new generation of 4D and HD imaging solutions that offer higher performance and a better signal-to-noise ratio compared to the previous generations. This radar is designed specifically to meet the demands of automated and autonomous driving vehicles and provides high performance at a minimum cost price.
Infineon’s CTRX8191F makes it easy to detect the vulnerabilities at a distance of up to 380 meters and has 8 transmitters and 8 receivers for faster and more accurate detection. The radar's RASIC MMIC allows for the cascading of multiple devices at low frequency, which lowers costs by removing the need for costly RF materials from the manufacturing process. The CTRX8191F works well with low-cost waveguide antennas. The radar is provided with the digital PLL (Phase-Locked Loop), which has the flyback time of <1 µs, which is less than 1 microsecond, making it exceptionally fast and efficient
Radar comes with the CARKIT development kit to help engineers quickly design and test radar systems. The kit allows them to easily prototype configurations for transmitting the raw data and object detections via high-speed Ethernet connections. The CARKIT includes example code, a graphical user interface for quick prototyping and design, and a waveguide antenna that can be easily swapped for a custom one to suit specific needs.
