PICO-WHU4 Compact PICO-ITX Board

AAEON has announced the PICO-WHU4, a compact board built on the PICO-ITX form factor and powered by 8th generation Intel core processors. The PICO-WHU4 is a powerful and compact solution designed for a wide range of embedded artificial intelligence and edge computing applications. The Board was built to offer high-performance computing in a compact PICO-ITX form factor by using 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7 and Celeron® processors (formerly Whiskey Lake) combined with support for up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. The wide operating temperature (0°C to 60°C) makes the device tough and reliable to operate in any working condition.

Features of PICO-WHU4

  • 8th Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3/Celeron Processor SoC
  • Non-ECC DDR4 SODIMM Slot x 1, up to 16GB
  • Dual HDMI ports (HDMI 1.4b)
  • GbE x 2, SATA 6.0 Gb/s x 1, GPIO x 4
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2 (Rear), USB 2.0 x 2 Pin header, RS-232/422/485 x 2
  • Full size mSATA/mPCIe x 1 (Select by BIOS), M.2 2230 (E key) x 1
  • 12V Only (Terminal block and DC barrel co-design)

PICO- WHU4 has an I/O configuration that can integrate with almost any embedded application. The device also features two Ethernet ports, two HDMI ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and two COM headers that support RS-232/422/485 serial port operation. PICO-WHU4 can be easily expanded with an M.2 slot that provides support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and mSAT/mPCIe slot supports the expansions such as the AI Core X with Intel Movidius Myriad X.

The PICO-WHU4 is custom configurable as per the need of the customer’s project, this reduces the development time and time-to-market. The board is also available as a turnkey solution, the PICo-WHU4-SEMI compact embedded system. For more information about PICO-WHU4, visit the official website of AAEON.
