Project Idea
A transarc plasma reactor that can break down waste LDPE plastic into hydrogen and other components. This reactor can turn waste plastic items such as translucent plastic bags into a fuel source(since plastic is essential made up of hydrocarbon chains). Hydrogen is a much more cleaner fuel that can power even the current IC engine based vehicles without much modification in engine structure or as fuel cells in EVs. This can prevent the harmful mining of elements required to make EV batteries.
The other products such as methane gas can be reused to make plastic packaging for several items without the need to tap into virgin materials. This approach can promote circular economy.
The reactor I'll be making will only be able to produce very less amount of hydrogen and might be highly inefficient in its first DIY iteration. Later the system can be scaled to industrial levels with appropriate investment in required technological research.
