Valtrack V4: Low-Power 4G LTE Vehicle Tracker

Valtrack V4 by Valetron Systems is a GPS vehicle tracking device designed for 4G-LTE CAT1 networks with global band support. The device is built around the Espressif ESP32-C3FH4 RISC-V chipset. It helps log routes, track locations in real-time, and prevent theft through an onboard LIS3DH 12-bit, 3-axis accelerometer motion sensor.

It connects directly to a vehicle’s 12 V lead-acid battery, eliminating the need for ignition line wiring and mitigating the risk of warranty voidance. It has a backup 3.7-4.2 V Li-Po battery input to operate without interruptions. The device only wakes up when it detects motion to save power. The configuration is flexible, through Bluetooth using a mobile app or via a Micro USB connection. It supports HTTP and MQTT protocols for data transmission to user-selected servers, allowing complete control over data privacy and integration without vendor lock-in. GNSS patch antennas or external active antennas are also supported through an SMA connector option.

In its enclosure, the device measures 52 mm by 65 mm by 30 mm. There are three WS2812 RGB LEDs for indicating the status of battery, network, and location. An optional IP67-rated enclosure is available for environmental protection. Open-source hardware and firmware resources are provided, including detailed documentation and programming guides based on the ESP-IDF framework.

The device is to be manufactured in India, with components sourced and assembled by PCB Power. The 4G module is FCC certified, while the device’s ESP32 2.4 GHz component needs a separate approval to meet regulatory compliance.
