IR Sensor Modules with Modulated Carrier Output

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a trio of miniaturized infrared (IR) sensor modules, designed to revolutionize remote control systems. These innovative modules, including the dual-lens TSMP95000 and single-lens TSMP96000 and TSMP98000, feature modulated carrier output technology, making them perfect for code learning applications.

Setting new standards for flexibility, these modules offer a wide supply voltage range from 2.0 V to 5.5 V and impressively low typical power consumption of 0.35 mA at 3.3 V. They seamlessly replace previous-generation solutions while delivering enhanced performance. Key enhancements include an extended voltage range, 50% lower power consumption, and a reduced bandwidth from 30 kHz to 60 kHz, ensuring superior noise resistance.

These miniaturized IR sensor modules find applications in industrial warehouse robotics and consumer electronics, including smart TVs, set-top boxes, sound bars, and gaming consoles. Each module ingeniously combines a photodiode(s) and preamplifier within a single epoxy package, acting as an efficient IR filter. Available in various package options, these devices offer both TTL and CMOS compatibility, featuring typical irradiance of 12 mW/m2 and a remarkable transmission distance of 1.8 meters when paired with a single TSAL6200 emitter. Furthermore, these modules are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and uphold Vishay's commitment to environmental responsibility. Samples and production quantities of the TSMP95000, TSMP96000, and TSMP98000 will be available from November 2023, with short lead times.
