Maxim's MAXM86146 Dual-Photo Detector Optical Sensor

Maxim Integrated Products Inc. has introduced the MAXM86146 dual-photo detector optical sensor solution for fast and easy designing of sensors to make them fit with the thinnest optical sensors in wearable health and fitness products. The new device allows the designers of advanced wearable products to achieve a 45% thinner optical design instead of a discrete approach. The Turnkey drop-in module MAXM86146 combines two photodiodes, an optical AFE and a microcontroller with built-in algorithms for activity classification, heart rate monitoring, and oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring in a 0.88mm package.

MAXM86146 also comes with a ready to use biosensing algorithm for measuring vital signs to the most rigorous medical standards, this saves up to six months of design time and also provides expanded space. The MAXM86146CFU+ is available at Maxim Integrated website for $5.84 (1000-up, FOB USA); also available from authorized distributors.
