Foxconn Interconnect Technology, a Taiwan-based company, has recently introduced the Xion E-Bike HMI System, an innovative electric bike (e-bike) computer that combines a traditional bike display with a controller. This system allows riders to effortlessly monitor their riding metrics and switch between different assistance levels, including a unique 'walking mode' designed for situations when the bike needs to be pushed. The Xion E-Bike HMI System is specifically designed to be mounted on the e-bike's handlebars, boasting a compact and powerful design measuring only 74.3 by 46 by 14 mm. It features a high luminance and high contrast display with a wide viewing angle, ensuring optimal visibility during biking activities.

To enable seamless transmissions of data, such as speed and range, the device utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) connectivity provided by Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52840 System-on-Chip (SoC). This data is then transmitted to a corresponding app, set to be released in June, which can be accessed on the rider's smartphone or tablet. The Xion E-Bike HMI System is powered by the nRF52840 SoC's 32-bit Arm Cortex M4 processor, equipped with a floating point unit (FPU), which delivers ample computational power to oversee the device's functionality. Additionally, the system is directly connected to the e-bike's battery, eliminating the need for recharging. It also displays the bike's current battery charge level on the screen.
