New Stackable DAQ HAT Brings 24-bit Analog Data Acquisition to Raspberry Pi

Eight 24-bit Analog Inputs DAQ HAT

Sequent Microsystems has introduced the Eight 24-bit Analog Inputs DAQ HAT, a high-precision data acquisition board designed for Raspberry Pi. This HAT provides eight differential analog inputs with software-selectable voltage ranges from ±180mV to ±24V, making it suitable for a wide range of measurement applications.

At its core, the DAQ HAT features two Texas Instruments ADS131 24-bit Delta-Sigma ADCs, ensuring high accuracy and stability. The board supports stacking up to eight layers, allowing users to expand their setup to 64 input channels. It also includes a real-time clock with battery backup, an RS485/MODBUS port for industrial communication, and a hardware watchdog to automatically power cycle the Raspberry Pi if needed.

For reliable operation, the HAT can be powered by 5V or 12V-24V, providing up to 4A continuous and 5A peak power to the Raspberry Pi. The input impedance ranges from 300KΩ to 1MΩ, with data rates up to 64 kSPS. The module also features eight programmable LEDs to indicate input status, a general-purpose push-button, and pluggable connectors supporting 26-16 AWG wires.

This DAQ HAT is designed for high-precision measurements, making it ideal for various applications.
