New Ceramic Disc Capacitors for Class X1(760 VAC) /Y1(500 VAC) Applications

Vishay Intertechnology released a new series of automotive grade AC line rated ceramic disc capacitors with its firs AEC-Q200 qualification for ClassX1(760 VAC)/Y1(500 VAC) applications in conformity with IEC 60384-14.4. It also added two new components offering capacitance of 6.8 nF and 10 nF, respectively to its existing AY2 Series .The Disc of AY1 Series offers a capacitance range from 470pF to 4700 pF with tolerance of ± 20 % and can withstand 85 / 85 / 1000 h biased humidity testing, 1000 temperature cycles from -55 °C to +125 °C, and ten 10 kV pulses per polarity. This feature makes it ideal for applications such as filter capacitors on DC/DC converters for electric (EV), hybrid electric (HEV), and plug-in-electric vehicles (PHEV).

 

In addition to this, the devices comes with a copper-plated disc with tinned copper-clad steel connection leads featuring only 0.6mm or 0.8 mm diameters.  The devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen free and the encapsulation is made of flame-resistant epoxy resin in conformity with UL V-0.
