MLX92214 3-Wire Hall Effect Latch Sensor

Melexis has introduced the MLX92214, a new Hall-effect latch with high magnetic sensitivity, and delivers the robustness of a high-quality device in the cost-sensitive applications. The new device uses the mixed-signal CMOS technology and has an integrated chopper-stabilized amplifier that eliminates output offset.

The low power consumption of the new latch is also low with a typical operating current of 2.1mA and a wide supply-voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V for extended runtime of battery-powered devices. The ESD-withstand capability of 6 kV (HBM) enhances reliability in applications such as hand tools.

The MLX92214 can provide high sampling frequencies for precision measurement at a fast rotational speed. The Device has the switching capability up to 10kHz and is available in two temperature grades ranging from -40°C to 125°C and -40°C to 150°C. The small CMOS chip size reduces the susceptibility to mechanical stress in cost-sensitive applications such as power tools, PCs, servers, and home appliances.
