Karnataka has approved nine major industrial projects worth ₹9,823.31 crore during the 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. These projects are expected to generate over 5,600 job opportunities across the state, highlighting the government's commitment to industrial development.
Among the newly approved projects, Karnataka is making its debut into semiconductor manufacturing with Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd’s ₹3,425.60 crore investment to establish a semiconductor unit at the Kochanahalli Electronics Manufacturing Cluster near Mysuru. This project is expected to create 460 jobs. Additionally, DN Solutions India Pvt Ltd has proposed a ₹998 crore investment at ITIR in Devanahalli, which will generate 467 jobs. Sansera Engineering Ltd is investing ₹2,150 crore at Harohalli, expected to create 3,500 jobs. The remaining six projects are expansions of existing facilities, including Musashi Autoparts India Pvt Ltd at Doddaballapura, JSW Cement Ltd at Ballari and NIDEC Industrial Automation India Pvt Ltd at Dharwad. Further expansions include Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd at Sandur, KB Steels Pvt Ltd at Hosapete and Sify Data Managed Services Ltd at Bengaluru’s High-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah underscored the importance of completing these projects on schedule, emphasizing that any delays would result in penalties. He also highlighted the state’s proactive efforts to strengthen the growth of high-tech industries. With land already allocated for four industrial clusters and a proposed Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) policy, Karnataka is positioning itself as a leading hub for technology-driven industries. State IT & BT and Science & Technology Minister Priyank Kharge also commented on the approval of a new data center in Bengaluru’s High-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park, which will strengthen the state’s digital and technology infrastructure.
