Foxconn has made an investment commitment of Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, which is expected to create 14,000 high-value engineering jobs. The company’s plans include value-added manufacturing, AI-driven operations, and R&D integration. India’s first Foxconn Desk will be launched by the Guidance nodal agency, which will help facilitate the company’s domestic setup. This announcement comes on the heels of Foxconn's representative Robert Wu’s meeting with Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, in Bengaluru yesterday, in which they discussed enhancing the company's presence in Karnataka.
According to Dr. T. R. B. Rajaa, TN Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce, this is the biggest commitment for engineering jobs made to date in Tamil Nadu. “Yet another major boost for Tamil Nadu’s electronics and advanced manufacturing sector as Honourable Chief Minister Thiru M. K. Stalin avargal met with Foxconn’s India Representative Mr. Robert Wu to reaffirm their deep trust in Tamil Nadu with substantial investment commitments,” he posted on X. “Foxconn will bring its next phase of value-added manufacturing, R&D integration and AI-led advanced tech operations to Tamil Nadu.“
The investment will strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position as an electronics manufacturing destination in India. As the company is already operating across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana, this marks a crucial scaling up of its presence in India.
