TSV792 from STMicroelectronics is a high bandwidth (50MHz) low offset (200µV) rail-to-rail 5V Op amp that enables accurate amplification of high-frequency signals in various industrial and smart home systems. This new device offers a fast slew rate of 30V/µs and is suitable to be used in photodiode-signal conditioning in battery-powered smoke detectors.
The typical input offset voltage of 50µV (at 25°C) enables TSV792 to perform accurate low-side current sensing in motor-control applications and power systems such as industrial power supplies, telecom, and network infrastructure supplies, and renewable-energy conversion. Additionally, the device can handle an output capacitance up to 1nF and full specification on a load of 22pF. This makes it a high-speed, high-precision solution for filter applications and input buffering of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs).
The precision qualities along with the maximum input offset voltage specified over the extended temperature range of this new device overextended from -40°C to 125°C help attain high measurement accuracy that too without special external components. Besides, it helps in trimming or calibrating circuits during the production phase.
The TSV792 has a wide supply-voltage range from 2.2V to 5.5V, and can be powered from the same supply as other low-voltage digital ICs such as the system host microcontroller, and can run from a deeply discharged battery to extend equipment runtime. The mini SO-8 packaged device is in production now and the DFN8 2 mm x 2 mm package style will be made available at the beginning of next year with the price range starting from $0.67 for orders of 1000 pieces.
