Altium Designer: updating PCB

Submitted by Anandhu on

I have finished my schematic for an echo circuit using PT2399 IC as per the application circuit in datasheet. I have downloaded the part (including footprint) from snapeda.com and updated my Altium library. But I can't update the design to PCB. There's no option as 'Update PCB document' under the 'Design' tab to update the design to PCB. But it is showing for other projects I have done. I don't understand. Please help me, it's urgent.

Hey does the new component appear green in your software? If yes then the probelm could be with one of the following

1. The librarey you downloaded does not have a footprint for that part it should have had only the shematic symbol

2. You did not add the correct path to your librarey, make sure it is inside the correct folder. Also try placing it in the project folder to see if it helps

There are two possible things describing your issue, one is the library path and the other one is the library files missing for the footprints of part. Check for other libraries also on SnapEDA there search for the part No. and you can see a list including datasheets, schematic symbol and PCB footprints, you need to download that one which contains all of these, if footprint is not mentioned there, then you cannot use its footprints in your PCB design. Here I recommend you to contact the SSLA platform technical support team for getting better assistance regarding these kinds of issues.
