AIROC CYW43022 Ultra Low power SoC

Infineon Technology has announced its new Ultra-Low power SoC with dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities. The AIROC CYW43022 promises a reduction in power usage during deep sleep by up to 65 per cent, extending the battery life for IoT and wearable applications such as smart locks, smart wearables, IP cameras and thermostats. The built-in dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.3 make it a better choice for IoT applications.

The CYW43022 also includes features such as Wi-Fi network offloads and an embedded Bluetooth stack reducing power demands on host processors. To support designs with smaller antennas or designs that require longer reach, the SoC includes a Class 1 Bluetooth PA with +18 dBm transmit power. Secure boot with firmware image authentication protects against hacker attacks. It also features an on-chip power amplifier and a low-noise amplifier for both 2.4 and 5GHz bands. The 256-QAM support enables data rates up to 78Mbps. Bluetooth 5.3 supports profiles such as BDR, EDR and Bluetooth LE. It also supports PCM host interface for audio data and offers a range of up to 100m.

The CYW43022 is available in 2 packages, 106-ball WLBGA and 251-pin WLCSP.
