Ethernet FeatherWing with 4 W of PoE power

PoE FeatherWing from Silicognition LLC is an expansion board that adds PoE support to Adafruit Feather boards. The expansion board can handle up to 4 Watts of power and comes with a built-in globally unique MAC address. The PoE FeatherWing supports IEEE 802.3at Class 1, Mode A and Mode B Power over Ethernet (PoE) with up to 4W available. It has Microchip 24AA02E48 that provides a built-in globally-unique MAC address, allowing actual field deployment without having to change and recompile code for each device.

The design incorporates a solder point to enable Giant Board support, without the need for the usual IRQ fly-wire connection. It works with the standard CircuitPython WIZNET5K driver. The board size and connections are exactly similar to the Adafruit Ethernet FeatherWing which means it’s a true drop-in replacement.

The board re-uses the WIZnet W5500 Ethernet controller and is fully compatible with existing software written for the Adafruit Ethernet FeatherWing. This means that it can easily be programmed with Arduino or CircuitPython using standard libraries for the non-PoE Adafruit Ethernet FeatherWing.
