I have 6 amp solar charger .I want to limit its current to 2 amp is it possible?iF yes what circuit i need to apply?
If the load consume 2 Amp of curren the solar panel provide that. => what about source?
Let me reframe query
At any instance lead acid SMF Battery can accept up to maximum 20% of current capacity. For 12V/26AH battery, it will be 5.2AH.Solar battery charger can pass upto 6A current as per its specification. Take a case where we connected 12V/40Watt solar panel (which can give Max. 2.66A current) and 12V/26AH Lead Acid SMF Battery to solar battery charger. Do you think that any time solar panel may get damage due to excess current (>2.66A) requirement by battery? If yes, what we need to protect solar panel in such condition?
No. It will not get damaged but it will provide nothing at all. Every solar panel has a continuous and shortcircuit current. In such case the load current cross the short circuit current limit and it will produce 0 Volt.

PermalinkIf the load consume 2 Amp of curren the solar panel provide that. Otherwise you need a Constant current circuit that will limit the input solar charger input to 2 Amps.
