Electronic throttle

Hi guys,
I have a slight problem,
I have bought my daughter an electric scooter but the thing has a turn throttle when she cranks it on it's all or nothing throwing her back and making her hand keep the power constantly on, iv taken the the grip apart and found out it's just a black/red wire connected to a switch, I purchased a push throttle but it has a signal wire and for the life of me I dont know what to connect it to, the controller is a LBD8-12v
Everything is clicked in so theres no where for a signal wire to be plugged in, do I need a new ECU? Or can I splice something or add extra electronical thing????

Lol currently on a floor with the thing in bits, and a daughter moaning

Relax there should be an easy fix

The Electric scooter throttle will normally we a potentiometer with three wires. Two for power and one for signal. I am suprised that yours does not have three wires but just two wires instead, so in that case how would you actually control the speed of the scooter?

If this https://www.monsterscooterparts.com/media/catalog/product/l/b/lbd8-1-co… is the controller we are talking about then the red, black and orange wire connector is for your throttle. Normally red is 5V, black is ground and orange has a signal of 0-5V.

May be you should provide me the picture of the throttle and switch and connector you are talking about here.
