Could anyone please help me identify the value (Ohms) of this resistor?
Colors ( Yellow, Violet, Sliver, Black )
A resistor is a device that opposes the flow of electrical current. The bigger the value of a resistor the more it opposes the current flow. The value of a resistor is given in ohms and is often referred to as its 'resistance.
A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic circuits, resistors are used to reduce current flow, adjust signal levels, to divide voltages, bias active elements, and terminate transmission lines, among other uses. High-power resistors that can dissipate many watts of electrical power as heat, may be used as part of motor controls, in power distribution systems, or as test loads for generators.
The electrical function of a resistor is specified by its resistance: common commercial resistors are manufactured over a range of more than nine orders of magnitude. The nominal value of the resistance falls within the manufacturing tolerance, indicated on the component.
For checking resistance of a specific resistor you have, there are several ways to do that. You can use a digital multi-meter in ohm mode, by using which you can check the resistance value of any resistor. Other method is using a platform application or electronics tools mobile app, you can check the resistance by selecting No. of bands of resistor and colors of bands. And the last and interesting way is you just use this sentence for accessing color codes
"B B R O Y Goes Britain Via Germany West ;)"
B Black
B Brown
R Red
O Orange
Y Yellow
Goes Green
Britin Blue
Via Violet
Germany Gray
West White
I hope this will help you. I would like to recommend you to get connect with the Sierra Software Ltd. platform technical support team for getting better assistance regarding your queries and project online support.

PermalinkIf the resistor value is Yellow, Violet, Sliver, Black - it is 0.47 Ohms, not sure about the tolarence. If it is dark Brown then it is 1%.
Use resisotor color code calculator from circuit digest for ease of resistor value fidings.
