Charging my gaming laptop with my e-bike battery

Submitted by Siroos on

Hi everyone,

I have two e-bike batteries with below details:

1- 48v / 16ah
2- 48v / 12.8ah

They both come with integrated 5V USB ports which can be used to charge my phone but I guess 5V does not provide enough power to charge my 19.5v / 9.23a laptop .
I read some articles about charging laptops with USB C ports but unfortunately my laptop's USB C does not support power delivery technology. Therefore, I guess my only option is to find an adapter to change the voltage of my e-bike battery to what it needs to be to charge my laptop and use my laptop charging point to charge its battery.

I'm not quite sure if this is possible at all but any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you!

Don not do it. It will degrade the battery life and you ebike will provide very little millage. If still you want to use it use a well designed PCB with a proper switching buck regulator.
