I had a power supply fry a resistor in my ASUS laptop. I found the resistor that fried, and now I'm trying to find a safe replacement.
The chip has the markings PJ724k IX on it.

The power supply is a 19.5V 7.7A (A17-150P1A) 100-240V~50-60Hz 2.0a.
I've looked around, but I can't find the exact chip for obvious reasons, but I'm curious if anyone knows off hand what would be a safe replacement.
Is this a 24k resistor and the PJ7 is some prefix from the manufacturer? Does anyone know if IX is important?
Thank you in advance!

PermalinkI think this is a diode. Can you share the circuit board image?
