### Resistor Wattage Calculator Formula

There are three power formulas any of three can be used to calculate the power,

The power P in watts (W) can be calculated as voltage V in volts (V) times the current I in amps (A):

`P = V * I`

The power P in watts (W) can also be calculated as squared voltage V in volts (V) divided by the resistance R, in ohms (Ω):

`P = V2 / R`

The power P in watts (W) can also be calculated as squared current I in amps (A) times the resistance R in ohms (Ω):

`P = I2 * R`
