Overview

India Design Challenge 2026 is a nationwide hardware innovation initiative, organized by CircuitDigest in collaboration with Mouser Electronics and Analog Devices (ADI), to encourage the next generation of application-focused hardware innovators to build practical solutions for real-world challenges. The challenge invites engineering students, startups, researchers, makers, and industry professionals to develop practical electronic systems using ADI technologies for applications across IoT, medical electronics, robotics, edge computing, drones, healthcare/wearable, and energy storage systems.

Participants are encouraged to think beyond proof-of-concept demonstrations and focus on practical implementation, system-level integration, reliability, sensing accuracy, signal processing, power optimization, edge intelligence, and real deployment relevance.

Whether you are designing a precision sensing platform, industrial monitoring system, intelligent healthcare device, energy optimization solution, robotics controller, or AI-enabled edge system, India Design Challenge 2026 encourages participants to build solutions with clear application value, technical depth, and real-world impact.

Turn Your Ideas into A Real Hardware Project

Participants can begin by registering for the contest and submitting their project idea through the contest portal. The selected ideas will receive a ₹3,500 Starter Grant to begin building their project using ADI components purchased from Mouser Electronics.

All successfully completed project submissions will receive an additional ₹3,500 Completion Reward, along with certificates and exclusive goodies. Submitted projects will also compete for ₹2,00,000+ in cash prizes.

Build Support & Recognition

Apart from the starter grant to build your project and the completion reward to complete and submit your project, we are also giving away cash prizes for the top three projects. All participants who have completed the challenge will also get certificates and free goodies to appreciate their efforts.

What Makes a Strong Submission?

Each project will be evaluated based on the following judging criteria, with a total score of 100 points. The points are split as follows:

  1. Hardware Design & Implementation [30 points]: Projects will be evaluated based on the quality of hardware design, embedded software, PCB/system integration, reliability, functionality, and overall engineering execution. Additional consideration will be given to custom hardware development, firmware design, mechanical integration, and supporting software tools.
  2. Documentation & Video Demonstration [30 points]: A short 60-sec vertical video to introduce you and your project. Showcase the working of your project. Clearly communicate the design approach, implementation process and performance results. Supporting materials such as circuit diagrams, source code, images, and design files should be properly documented.
  3. Effective use of ADI components [25 points]: Projects will be evaluated based on the effective and meaningful use of Analog Devices (ADI) components purchased from Mouser Electronics.
  4. Practical Impact & Scalability [15 points]: Projects that solve practical problems and demonstrate potential for real-world implementation or future scalability will receive additional consideration.
