Contest Rules


The following eligibility criteria aim to create an inclusive yet legally compliant environment for all potential participants.

  • This contest is only for participants from India and ASEAN countries. Both individual and team participation is permitted.
  • Engineers, Working Professionals, Students, Hobbyists, Makers, and Researchers of all ages and expertise are eligible to participate in the contest.
  • Participants representing any company or institution should be authorized to act on behalf of the respective company or institution.
  • While there is no minimum age limit, participants below 18 are advised to get parental consent.
  • Participants outside India are required to warrant their eligibility for the procurement of prizes and awards if required by their local law.
  • Any direct employee of DigiKey or Semicon Media is not allowed to participate in this contest.

We welcome all projects, from small to big, for this contest. However, participants are expected to adhere to the following points for successful project submission:

  • All registered participants should begin by registering for the contest and then apply for hardware by submitting their project ideas
  • If the project idea is selected, participants should purchase their development board from digikey.in and use the same to build their project. The first 60 participants with selected project ideas will get their development board for free.
  • The project must be built using any one of the three development boards (Arduino UNO R4, MAX78000 Feather Board, Maixduino Kit)
  • Projects must be original and not previously publicly displayed in any manner.
  • Clear documentation, including a demo video, project description, images, schematics, and code, is essential.
  • Participants should submit their projects before the deadline mentioned on the contest timeline.
  • Cash prizes are awarded to the top projects, with additional certificates and free goodies provided to all participants who successfully complete the challenge by submitting their project.
  • Contest judges determine winners based on the points awarded to projects according to the judging criteria.
  • The distribution of cash and prizes depends on the participant’s location. While we strive to fulfill our commitments, if there are logistical issues or legal constraints, we will offer a suitable alternative of equal value.
  • If participating as a team, the prize money and awards will be shared among the members of the team.
  • The contest aims to celebrate innovation and talent while fostering inclusivity and collaboration within the tech community.
  • Clear channels are provided for participants to ask questions and seek support throughout the contest.
  • Prompt and helpful communication enhances the overall experience for participants and helps address any issues or concerns they may have.
  • Contest organizers are available to provide assistance and guidance, ensuring that participants have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Open communication fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging participants to actively engage with the contest and each other.
  • By facilitating effective communication and support, the contest organizers aim to create a positive and enriching experience for all participants.
  • Participants retain ownership of their submissions, with the contest organizers and DigiKey granted non-exclusive rights to use and promote the entries for promotional and educational purposes.
  • By submitting their entries, participants grant the organizing committee and DigiKey a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and publish their submissions for promotional and educational purposes.
  • Contest organizers reserve the right to moderate and regulate the contest, ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in the official rules.
  • Participants agree to the terms and conditions of the contest by registering and submitting their entries, acknowledging the rights and ownership policies.
  • Clear guidelines and terms ensure transparency and fairness while allowing for the dissemination of knowledge and inspiration to a wider audience.
